Our studio is located at Solden Hill House in Byfield, where we passionately breathe new life into pre-loved furniture, transforming them into beautiful, sustainable pieces that our customers will love.
Jay always had a knack for seeing beauty in the discarded and overlooked. What began as a hobby of turning old furniture into unique pieces has now blossomed into a new business. In his garage-turned-workshop, Jay transformed everyday trash into stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces, blending sustainability with creativity.
Realizing the growing market for eco-friendly products and the increasing desire for sustainability in everyday life, Jay decided to take a leap of faith and launched "The Upcycling Studio," a workshop specialising in upcycled goods based at Solden Hill House.
Jay will be expanding his offerings by teaching Solden Hill House Residents the art of upcycling and fostering a new generation of environmentally-conscious creators. His story is set to become an inspiration, showcasing how one person's passion for sustainability could drive meaningful change in the community.
Our products are unique and crafted using locally sourced donated or purchased items. We envision how the finished piece will look and set about repurposing it using reclaimed products, such as wood and recycled glass. This allows us to create with the environment in mind.
Using a blend of premium products such as Fusion Mineral paints, Annie Sloan chalk paints, Farrow and Ball and Annabell duke, we can create a piece which matches or compliments your existing colourway.
22 million pieces of furniture are discarded each year in the UK, the majority of which goes directly to landfill and Climate action NGO WRAP estimates this to be the annual fate of 670,000 tonnes of furniture – much of it reusable. We take these unwanted items and make sure they are saved, repaired and reused.
See regular appearances from Maple and Willow, our adorable studio mascots, by following us on Facebook! Watch them explore the stunning surroundings of Solden as they head off on their playful adventures.
Our products are meticulously designed with real people and real homes in mind. We firmly believe that living spaces can seamlessly blend functionality with beauty. Each product is crafted to serve a practical purpose, all while maintaining a visually appealing aesthetic.
We are thrilled to be based in the grounds of Solden Hill House, a residential care home and registered charity. Interacting with the residents is a pleasure, and they enthusiastically offer assistance with our projects.
